Sapling AI — AI Disclosure

Effective date: June 26, 2026 Version: 2026-06-26

Registered entity: Sapling AI LLC, a Texas limited liability company. This plain-language disclosure supports our transparency obligations under the EU AI Act (Article 50) and the Apple App Store and Google Play generative-AI requirements. It is not legal advice. Keep this file in sync with frontend/lib/legal/bundledPolicies.js (the in-app source of truth).

Sapling is powered by artificial intelligence. This page explains, in plain language, how AI is used, what it means for you, and how we try to keep it safe — so you can make informed choices when you create and share.

Who can use Sapling

Sapling is strictly for users aged 13 and older. If you are under 13, you may not use the Services. If you are 13–17 (or under the age of majority where you live), you may use Sapling only with a parent or guardian's permission and active supervision.

You are using an AI system

The core of Sapling is generative AI. When you describe a game, image, sound, or edit, an automated AI system — not a human — creates the result ("AI Output"). You are interacting with software. AI Output is produced on demand from your prompt and the model's training, so two people can get different results, and the same idea can produce different Output each time.

AI can be wrong — please review before you rely on it

AI Output can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, nonsensical, or occasionally offensive, and it can describe people, facts, or events that are not real. Always review and evaluate AI Output before you rely on, publish, or share it. AI Output is for creative and general-information purposes only and is not legal, medical, financial, tax, safety, or other professional advice — do not use it as a substitute for a qualified professional.

Where your prompts go

To create AI Output, your prompts and related inputs are sent to and processed by third-party AI model providers — currently Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic — acting as our service providers under confidentiality and security obligations. They process this data to generate your Output and are not permitted to use it to train their own publicly available models. See our Privacy Policy and Subprocessors document for details. Please do not submit content you are not allowed to share or would not want processed this way.

Safety — and its limits

We apply automated safeguards and moderation that are designed to block the creation of harmful content, and our Community Guidelines set out what isn't allowed. No safety system is perfect, though, and the AI may sometimes produce a result that's inappropriate or that breaks our rules. If that happens, stop using the Output and use the in-app Report tools so our team can act. Don't try to "jailbreak" or bypass these safeguards.

Labeling AI-generated content

Where required by law (including Article 50 of the EU AI Act) or by an app store, AI-generated or AI-manipulated Output may be marked or otherwise disclosed as artificially generated. Please don't remove or hide those markings. If you share AI Output where people might mistake it for real (for example, a realistic depiction of a person or event), you're responsible for making clear that it was AI-generated, and you must not use it to deceive, defame, or impersonate.

Your content, your responsibility

Subject to our Terms, you own the AI Output you generate, and it's treated as "Your Content." That also means you're responsible for it — for making sure it doesn't infringe anyone's rights and complies with our Community Guidelines and the law. Do not create AI depictions of real, identifiable people in sexual, deceptive, or harmful ways without consent.
